Brian's Brighton Marathon success

This week we are celebrating the incredible Brian McNestry, who recently took on the Brighton Marathon! Brian was running for his partner, Charlotte, who has lived with ME for over two years. He said: “ME has hugely restricted our lives and our plans for the future. Charlotte has been unable to work or take pleasure in simple things like reading and walking our dog. She has spent almost all this time lying on the sofa in pain. It has been heartbreaking to see her so diminished.” Brian and Charlotte have found the lack of understanding about ME frustrating, saying: “I want to fundraise for Action for M.E. because I want to help you advocate for better support and research for people with ME. Trying to explain ME to people who have never encountered it before has been so frustrating so anything to help raise awareness too would be great.” Not only did Brian complete his first marathon, but he’s also raised an incredible £1,424 to support our work!
