Study options

Before applying to college or university, you need to decide whether to opt for a full-time or a part-time course. Perhaps you would prefer to study from home?

Once you are at university or college, if your illness worsens or you are finding the workload too much, talk to your tutor and disability officer straight away – don’t bottle things up. It doesn’t mean you have failed.

Action for M.E. has a factsheet for lecturers explaining more about M.E. that you can print out and give to them.

If you decide to change courses, look before you leap! Thoroughly research the new course you want to apply for and talk to lecturers about the work that is expected from you and the time-scale in which it has to be delivered.

You also need to be aware of the implications.

It is vital that you talk to your personal tutor and disability support services before making any final decisions.
