Our fully trained staff offer confidential support, understanding and information to adults affected by M.E.
They're here to support you, whether you have M.E. yourself, or you're a friend or family member.
Tel: 0845 123 2314
Monday - Friday 11am - 3pm
Closed on bank holidays
You don't need to be a member of Action for M.E. to use the service and there is no charge apart from the cost of the call.
The Support Line service was set up in 2002. In November 2010, it was extended to include support by email.
Support by email
Our dedicated email support service provides:
- information on M.E.
- details of local NHS services
- support to help you cope with the illness
- support for carers.
Please note! It can take up to seven working days for our team to respond by email, so if you need immediate support you may wish to telephone (details above).
Support Service staff are not medically trained and therefore unable to give medical advice but can help with emotional support, letting you know about possible options open to you and signposting you to other organisations that may be able to help you further.
We are members of the Telephone Helplines Association.
If you are a child or young person with M.E. contact the Association of Young People with ME (see below).
Samaritans
If our line is closed, remember that the Samaritans are open 24/7. Samaritans provides confidential, non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.

Association of Young People with ME (AYME)
AYME offers young people and children friendship-supporting services like an online community, pen pals, e-mates, buddies and local get-togethers, all run by other young people with ME/CFS.
