M.E. blood ban
The NHS Blood and Transplant service is to ban blood donation by people with M.E. from 1 November to comply with safety guidelines for people with relapsing or neurological conditions of unknown or uncertain origin. But the M.E. Association’s Dr Charles Shepherd says the ban is motivated by concerns that M.E. may be caused by the blood-borne virus XMRV.
