Patients to choose doctors and treatments
Most of the changes to the NHS reform bill, suggested by the NHS Future Forum after a two-month listening exercise, have been agreed to by David Cameron and Nick Clegg. These include giving patients the ‘right to challenge’ poor services for the first time, and guaranteeing them the right to choose doctors and treatments.

Mikovits asked to withdraw XMRV study
Editors of the journal Science have issued an ‘editorial expression of concern’ over Vincent Lombardi and Judy Mikovits’ 2009 research paper that found a link between CFS and human retrovirus XMRV. Subsequent studies have been unable to replicate their results. Dr Mikovits has replied, insisting the study is accurate, and that the journal's request for them to withdraw it could be disastrous for future research.
