Leanna nominated for role model award
A woman described as a leading light in her community, who had to give up her burgeoning career in radio because of her worsening M.E., has been nominated in the Life Change category of the Leeds Black Awards which recognise black role models. Leanna Benjamin, who has recently started a jewellery making business with her mother, says her Christian faith helps keep her spirit up.

Louise is mum in a million
Mother Louise Acton has won a ‘Mum in a million’ award after being nominated by her 14-year-old son Liam who was diagnosed with M.E. three years ago. She said of her son, “He has shown great courage through this nightmare illness where he is in severe daily pain and that’s what makes me most proud of him.”
