Action for M.E. at employment conference

19 March 2012

Work Minister Chris Grayling will join representatives from 61 companies, including BT, Deloitte and Marks & Spencer, at a Department for Work and Pensions employment conference in London today. The conference is sponsored by KPMG and supported by Action for M.E.

In addition to Chris Grayling, speakers include Sir Peter Spencer, Chief Executive, Action for M.E.; British Telecom’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Paul Litchfield and Leeds NHS Consultant Occupational Therapist Sue Pemberton.

The conference will show employers how they can help people with M.E. and other fluctuating long-term conditions remain in or return to work, as well as providing an opportunity to share experiences and best practice. Sue Pemberton will use M.E. to demonstrate the importance of understanding the characteristics of impairment.
