Support the APPG on M.E. today

09 July 2007

The annual general meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on M.E. will be held on Thursday 12th July, 1.30pm, Committee Room 17, House of Commons.

If you are a person living with M.E., a carer or supporter, please encourage your MP to attend.

The APPG campaigns within Westminster to support the improvement of health, social care, education and employment opportunities for people affected by M.E. It is committed to supporting the biomedical model of M.E.

Attendance by MPs is essential if it is to succeed.

In addition to the AGM, the agenda for the meeting includes an update on the development of NHS clinical services for ME/CFS, by Dr Terry Mitchell, regional clinical champion for ME/CFS in the East of England and the implications of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Bill for people with M.E. by Di Newman of Peterborough ME and CFS Self-Help Group.

An invitation has been issued to the Department of Health for one of their ministers to attend the meeting to speak on the NHS services programme but attendance is still to be confirmed, following the recent Cabinet reshuffle and the changes that result.
