Belfast M.E./CFS service under threat?

21 September 2011

There has been some uncertainty in online discussion forums about the continuing existence of the Belfast M.E./CFS service.

Action for M.E. contacted Belfast Health and Social Care Trust for clarification and was told, “The Belfast HSC Trust does provide a M.E./CFS service to patients within the Trust's catchment area, there is a lead Consultant and also a part-time Occupational Therapist who provides a graded therapy programme.”

Action for M.E.’s Policy Officer Tristana Rodriguez would be interested to hear from patients or clinicians of any specialist NHS service which fears potential cuts in the current political climate.
