Employment programme consultation
4 October 2011
The Royal Association for Disability Rights (RADAR) has published an independent review of the Government’s specialist disability employment programmes. Describing the Access to Work Programme as the Government’s “best kept secret,” the review recommends doubling the numbers of people able to use Access to Work support and raising the overall numbers securing specialist disability employment support to 100,000.
In July, the Government published a response to the review and a consultation seeking views on specific recommendations made in it, including those concerning Access to Work, Remploy, residential training colleges and the Work Programme.
If you have experience of these schemes or any other employment issues that you have faced, and would like to contribute to Action for M.E.’s response to the consultation, please email the Policy team or join the discussion in the Policy and Campaigns Forum on our website. The deadline for responses is Monday 10 October.
