Q&A on Personal Independence Payment

Some common questions about the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), proposed as a replacement for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in working age people, have been answered in a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document* published by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

A “myth buster” section responds to concerns about issues like medical assessments and whether people with long term conditions will lose out.

Revised assessment criteria proposals for PIP were published by the DWP on 14 November and a further consultation on them will be carried out in the New Year.
