Westminster’s autumn conference recess

The Houses of Parliament will be in recess next week, to allow for the party conference season, with the Lords returning Monday 3 October and the Commons returning a week later, on Monday 10 October.

Forthcoming questions and debates (provisional), including the Lords’ second reading of the Health and Social Care Bill are listed below.

Commons

12 October
- Innovation in the NHS – John Glen
- Disabled access to public transport – Lisa Nandy

Lords

4 October - Lord Willis of Knaresborough to ask Her Majesty's Government what action they are taking to enable the appropriate use of animals in health-related research.

5 October - Baroness Turner of Camden to ask Her Majesty's Government what action they propose to take regarding the future of the Remploy factories.

6 October - Lord Soley to ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have any proposals to review and revise their legislative timetable.

11 October - Health and Social Care Bill – second Reading

12 October - Lord James of Blackheath to ask Her Majesty's Government what consideration they have given to extending the cost-saving work of health charities by providing them with NHS premises free of charge.
