Fundraising wheelchair push for ME Research UK

7 September 2011

37-year-old Rachel Groves is doing a sponsored wheelchair push in aid of ME Research UK this weekend.

On Sunday 11 September a team of volunteers will push Rachel, who was diagnosed with M.E. in January 2007, for 10 kilometres around Lichfield to raise money for her nominated charity, ME Research UK.

According to Rachel, "Sitting in the wheelchair while being pushed might not sound like hard work but for me it's actually going to be a huge effort on my part. Due to M.E./CFS I am mainly housebound and when I do go out it requires careful planning or my condition can worsen very easily."

For more information about the sponsored push you can take a look at Rachel's blog. On this page there is also information about how you can donate.

Rachel will be doing a running commentary of the event using her Twitter and Facebook pages.
