UK Fibromyalgia Awareness Week

2 September 2011

From 4 to 11 September it is Fibromyalgia National Awareness Week. According to UK Fibromyalgia Family Magazine, "Lack of awareness about fibromyalgia means 1,600,000 British women and 400,000 British men continue to be marginalised because their condition is not properly recognised."

Awareness-raising posters can be obtained by calling 01202 259 155. There is a petition online which can be found using the search term 'Change DWP Medicals for Fibromyalgia Syndrome'.

There is also a Fibromyalgia Awareness Week group on Facebook and you can also follow the news on Twitter.
