Campaign for change

Although much has been achieved since Action for M.E. was founded in 1987, there is still a lack of understanding of the illness.

We campaign for the widespread recognition of M.E., better services and support and more research into the causes, faster diagnosis and more effective treatment.

Our current Time for Action campaign aims to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect of M.E., once and for all. It ties in with other current campaigns that reflect the issues of the day.

The need for campaigning will remain until our mission has been achieved and M.E. has been overcome.

In addition to raising awareness through press campaigns, we work with policy makers and practitioners.

As people with M.E. identified in our 2010 manifesto for M.E., our priorities are: health, welfare, research, employment, social care, education and the best interests of carers.
