Free online workshops and events

Our free online events mean you can connect and make friends with other young people with ME.

We keep this page up to date with all the information you need to take part. We hope to see you soon!

Breaking Isolation workshops

Our free online Breaking Isolation workshops are an exciting opportunity to meet other children and young people who have ME/CFS, to get to know each other and to take part in fun games and creative activities. We hope you will also feel more confident talking about your experience of ME/CFS in a safe and understanding environment.

Registration for each workshop opens a month before on a first come, first served basis. We offer workshops for two age groups, 8-13 years and 14-18 years, alternating each time. You don't need to be a member of our Young People's Community to take part - but if you'd like to join we'd love to welcome you!

Workshops last for 1.5 hours from 4pm to 5.30pm, with a 10-minute break half way through. They are hosted on Zoom, and facilitated by a staff member along with one of our brilliant young volunteers. Registering on Eventbrite gives you all the details you need. If you are under 16, we will need your parent/guardian permission for you to attend (there's a section for them to complete on the sign-up form about this).

These workshops are more suitable for young people who are moderately or mildly affected. Please get in touch if you have any questions, including if you are more severely affected and would like to discuss how we may be able to meet your access requirements.

March workshop: creative spring session, bringing the outside in, for 8 to 13 year olds

Register now for this creative workshop celebrating the coming Spring season with:

  • introductions from the team and a one-word check-in
  • a short getting to know each other game
  • learning about embracing the seasons of nature and how to live like a tree!
  • bringing Spring inside - we will send you a wild flower growing kit and we will be potting our seeds together, labelling our different pots, decorating them if we like, and having time to chat freely with other young people with ME/CFS
  • sharing online resources for fun and relaxing activities, and linking to Action for ME services
  • ending with a one-word check-out, and an invitation to join other participants in a WhatsApp group so you can carry on chatting.

This is a very relaxed, gentle workshop that you can enjoy from anywhere in your home. If you need to join from the sofa or bed, you can simply have a tray on your lap to pot your seeds – we want you to be as comfortable as possible.

Your seed potting kit will be sent out the week before the workshop, so the cut off date for registering to take part in this workshop is Tuesday 25 February.

Register for your free place today. We look forward to seeing you!

And don't forget that we have a FREE counselling service for children and young people with suspected or diagnosed ME/CFS if you would like to access longer-term support. You have the option of up to 12 sessions of 30 or 50 minutes each, and can talk about anything - this is about what matters to you. Find out more on our counselling service page.
