We are delighted to announce that our Big Give Christmas Challenge 2018, which ended at noon on Tuesday 4 December, raised an amazing £142,500 to help us stop M.E. stealing lives.
This total includes on- and offline gifts. Compared to last year's Big Give, we have received more donations, and raised more money, thanks to you. Every penny will help us reach more children and adults with M.E., reduce more isolation, and invest more time and money in biomedical M.E. research. Your gift will mean we can support more people like Lucy, who told us our peer-support forum was a lifeline.
“I was so incredibly isolated, scared and confused. I lost all but one of my friends, I spent most of my time alone and I was still coping with losing my mum. I have found the [Action for M.E.] online community helpful – during a really challenging period, early on in my relapse, it was a lifeline. The reassurance and the care was exactly what I needed in those difficult moments.”
Seeing the overwhelming support that we have from our community during the Big Give Christmas Challenge, for a second year in a row, has been truly humbling. Thank you to everyone who shared our Big Give campaign with their family and friends, and who donated to help us stop M.E. stealing lives.
