Every year, amazing people wearing Action for M.E. vests take part in running and cycling events to help make what we do possible.

We’re proud to support each and every one of our event fundraisers. Take part in any of the events below and you’ll receive a free Action for M.E. running vest, a runners fundraising pack and the full support of our dedicated fundraising and communications teams to help you hit your fundraising target and share your story.

We offer places in a range of distances suitable for all experience levels, and we’re happy to offer training tips and advice on request.

Cycling events

Ride London 100 in 2018– Own place only

The London Marathon of cycling is perfect for teams and keen cyclists, and features closed roads throughout a stunning scenic route made famous by the 2012 Olympics.

There’s no cost to enter and you’ll receive team updates, fundraising materials and support from our fundraising team.

The deadline for entries in the 2018 event has now passed. but if you're lucky enough to have your own place we'd be happy to welcome you to the team and offer any support we can.

Bournemouth Marathon 2018 – DEADLINE 3 October 2018

The Bournemouth Marathon is ’running as it should be.’ Beautiful coastal views, a chance to run the Boscombe and Bournemouth piers and a spectacular finish.

London Marathon 2019 – DEADLINE 20 October 2018

A world-famous event watched live by thousands each year and the largest single-day fundraising event in the world.

We’re accepting applications for our London Marathon 2019 team up until 20 October 2018. It’s an incredible event and we’d love to give everyone who applies a place, but sadly this isn’t possible. Applying does not guarantee you a place, we’ll make our decision in October according to who we believe is most motivated to take part, fundraise and support our work.

Hairy Haggis Team Relay Marathon 2019 - DEADLINE 1 May 2019

Bath Half Marathon 2019 - DEADLINE 3rd February 2019

The Bath half is an established road race in the stunning, national heritage city of Bath. The course is fast and flat offering a great chance for personal bests or a starting point for first time runners.

Scottish Half Marathon 2018 – DEADLINE 19 September 2018

The route is seriously flat & rapid – if you want to set a personal best for a half marathon, then this is the event for you. Starting just outside Edinburgh, you will run along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse; Scotland’s oldest racecourse.

Whether you’ve never run before, or you’re preparing for your 100th event, you can’t afford to miss out on what is going to be the ‘must-do’ running event this year.

The 2018 Great North Run – OWN PLACE ONLY

Broadcast live on the BBC and featuring an elite field of world famous runners, this is a massive event with a long history.

The deadline for charity places in the 2018 Great North Run has now passed, however if you have your own place you're still welcome to join our team and receive the full support of our fundraising team.

10K Runs

2018 Scottish 10K – DEADLINE 19 September 2018

The route starts and finishes just outside Edinburgh at Musselburgh Racecourse. You will follow the final section of the seriously flat and rapid Scottish Half Marathon route, running along the magnificent Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse; Scotland’s oldest racecourse. Supernova 5K Runs 2018

Supernova Run is a series of 5k runs with a twist. They all take part in iconic venues at night, including the famous Helix Park, The Kelpies and more. 2019 Kilomathon Scotland 13.1K - DEADLINE 25 March 2019

Kilomathon is run on Edinburgh’s beautiful cycle path network. Runners take in the historic Royal Yacht Britannia, the picturesque Victoria Park and enjoy tranquil cycle paths before a fantastic finish in front of the West Stand at BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Dog Jogs 2018 – a relaxed 5K run with a furry friend

Taking place between July and October, Dog Jogs are light 5k events in beautiful parks throughout the UK that allow your four legged friend to get involved in the fundraising spirit.

The Ultra Challenge Series - Walk it, jog it or run

Are you a keen walker and new to endurance events? Maybe a seasoned hiker looking for adventure? Perhaps a marathon runner wanting to 'up' your distance? If you're looking for a real challenge - these events are for you!

Various distances are available for each of the events below, with full hospitality provided, and a charity place is reliant on you having raised 50% of the minimum fundraising total 6 weeks before the event. Self funding options are also available however, and we're happy to support you however you choose to take part.

Thames Path Challenge

A beautiful route following England's greatest river, with a choice of 100km, 50km or 25km distances available.

The full 100km route heads upstream from Putney Bridge past Hampton Court to Runnymede of Magna Carta fame at 50km, then on past wonderful scenery all the way to Henley.

Thames Bridges Trek

Join other trekkers as you venture across the Capital taking in unrivalled views of the skyline from its best vantage points. Setting out from Putney Bridge - the route heads East towards the City, zig-zagging over the array of historic bridges - each with its own fascinating story - and a mid point stop in Vauxhall for some snacks & drinks. 25km later, it's a finish line celebration in Southwark past the majestic Tower Bridge.

Jurassic Coast Challenge 2018

A Poole Harbour start, then along the spectacular Jurassic Coast - a World Heritage Site. It's up and down through Lulworth Cove to the Weymouth half-way point, then past Portland Bill and the unique Chesil Beach to West Bay's sandstone cliffs (of TV's Broadchurch fame) - before a welcome finish line celebration in the vibrant town of Bridport.

Wye Valley Challenge

Take on the dramatic landscape straddling the England & Wales border - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty steeped in history. The full challenge distance is 100KM, with 50KM and 25KM routes also available.

South Coast Challenge

Take on some of England's finest scenery - up Beachy Head, over the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the South Downs Way with stunning views to a Brighton mid-point. Devil's Dyke, welcome rest stops, ups & downs all lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an amazing journey you'll never forget.
