As the 2016-17 flu season approaches, we know that some people with M.E. and carers have questions about the flu vaccination available at pharmacies and GP surgeries.
Action for M.E. volunteer Emily Beardall, a qualified pharmacist, offers key information in her Flu and the flu vaccination blog post, including:
“Whether you have the flu vaccination is entirely your decision,” says Emily. “If you’re unsure, it’s about weighing up the risk of flu complications compared with the side effects, if any, that you get. This might be different for everyone, depending on your circumstances and your own experiences. My blog post Making health decisions might help. If you are still unsure, talk it over with your GP or pharmacist.”
Please note that neither Emily nor our Medical Advisors are able to answer individual queries about the flu vaccine. Instead, please talk to your healthcare professional.
