Invite your MP to the next APPG on M.E.

March 16, 2022

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the All-Parliamentary Party Group (APPG) on M.E. has been set for Tuesday 29 March 10:00 – 10:30 via Zoom. As always, we’re encouraging you to invite your MP to attend. Your MP can get details on how to attend by emailing Carol Monaghan MP, Chair of the APPG.

In addition to reconstituting the APPG, the AGM will include a discussion on our work plan for the next year in relation to the APPG purpose: to seek to improve health, social care, education, and employment opportunities for M.E. sufferers and encourage biomedical research into the cause and treatment of M.E.

You can encourage your MP to attend by:

  • sharing our APPG tweet and tagging your MP's Twitter handle
  • using the template email at the bottom of this page.

Do you know the details of your MP? If you, are unfamiliar with or do not know those contact details you can find them at Find your MP - MPs and Lord's UK Parliament.

Dear YOUR MP'S NAME

I am writing as one of your constituents to ask that you attend the AGM on the APPG for M.E. via Zoom, 10am to 10:30am, on Tuesday 29th March. The group is chaired by Carol Monaghan MP. Please contact her office for an invitation and Zoom link on carol.monaghan.mp@parliament.uk

M.E. is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, a neurological condition that causes symptoms affecting many body systems, more commonly the nervous and immune systems. It is an often misunderstood condition that affects roughly 400 children and adults in our constituency.

At this AGM, you can hear about the challenges people with M.E. face in receiving a diagnosis for their illness and challenges in accessing treatments, welfare support and education. If you'd like to find out more, please contact Caitlin at Action for M.E. via policy@actionforme.org.uk

Kind regards
