BBC Panorama on disability benefits: can you help?

March 31, 2016

The BBC’s Panorama programme will be looking at disability benefits and the impact the changes are having on people’s lives.

They are looking for case studies and are hoping to film next week. Can you help?

In particular they are looking to film three case studies:

  1. Someone who has lost/who will be losing their mobility vehicle after transition from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to Personal Independence Payment (PIP), especially if this means they will now struggle to get to work.
  2. Someone who is going to be having a PIP face to face assessment within the filming window.
  3. Someone who has a ‘moderate or fluctuating’ disability who has had a PIP assessment and now receives less than they did under DLA. What is impact on their life etc?

Please email us if any of these scenarios are relevant to your experience of disability benefits changes.

Don’t forget you will need to be filmed next week, and you must be happy to appear on Panorama on the BBC.

UPDATE: The show has been postponed and is still planned to go ahead at a later date, so it won't be going ahead next week but you can still get in touch with us if you'd like to be involved. Thanks!
