Beth French to host Gala dinner for Action for M.E.

April 10, 2017

Record breaking open water swimmer Beth French is to host a gala dinner in Somerset to raise awareness and vital funds for Action for M.E.

Beth aims to become the first person to complete the Oceans 7 challenge in a year, which consists of seven long-distance open-water swims, and is considered the marathon swimming equivalent of the Seven Summits mountaineering challenge.

As a teenager Beth was confined to a wheelchair with M.E. "It has taken me a long time to regain trust in my body and to learn how to live with ME. Today I live symptom-free but I know that it is always there and it has played a significant part in the decisions that I have made and the way I have lived my life today. ME does not define me but it will always be a part of me", she says.

Beth will host a gala dinner at Somerset CCC County Ground on Saturday June 3 from 7pm. The evening will begin with a champagne reception and three-course meal, and will feature a live band, silent auction and charity raffle.
