Our fundraiser of the week is Amanda Wanless, who is raising money for us because her sister has M.E.
"After taking part in the 10k Winter run I managed to get talked into entering the ballot for the Royal Parks half marathon. Many of my running friends had already entered. I was very apprehensive but according to my friends it's really hard to get a place! You've guessed it, they didn't get a place and I did ! I wish I was thrilled but I was in shock, I should have been pleased but initially I wasn't. How could I possibly run 21k (13 miles) when I found 10k (6 miles) difficult", Amanda says.
"My sister was the one who talked me into going through with it. She said I must do it because I can and you never know what's around the corner. My wonderful sister and best friend Ellie (Helen) who was always so busy and full of life is now a shadow of her former self. She looks like Ellie and sounds like her...but she isn't like Ellie used to be, she's exhausted and poorly more often than not. She was diagnosed with M.E a couple of years ago.
"So please help by supporting me in my run and my chosen charity and make life a little more liveable for those suffering with M.E.as 'you never know what's around the corner.' Thank you."
