Our fundraiser of the week is Claire Green, whose team from Thomas and Adamson ran the Edinburgh Relay Marathon on May 27 to raise an amazing £1,346 for us.
Claire, who was unable to run herself due to her M.E., said: "In February 2017, I took ill and after a good number of doctor appointments and after seeing several medical specialists I was diagnosed with M.E. No longer able to play football or run due to the illness, my teammates have been very supportive of me and that is one of the most important things when something like this is affecting you.
“For anyone who knows the team you will know they are all competitive and determined individuals especially when it comes to running and sports. The three of them have all completed marathons and with our competitive natures I have always said when I stopped playing football I would start marathon training and run a marathon. I was hoping I would be well enough to run one of the legs this year, unfortunately I'm not well enough to do so due to M.E. but as a team we have agreed that they will run and finish for this deserving charity."
We’d like to thank Claire and her team for everything they’ve done to help us continue supporting people affected by M.E.
