“To function, and live life enjoyably, I have to plan, plan, plan and sometimes say no to things or cancel, to ensure my body will be able to cope with day-to-day life. It is a continuous learning lesson and I still have no magic formula.”
Our fundraiser of the week is Renée de Nève, who has CFS. Raising funds to help support our work, Renée has already completed the Jurassic Coast challenge walk and will take on the south coast tomorrow. For many people with M.E./CFS, this level of activity would simply not be possible. For those that can, like Renée, careful planning is essential to ensure they do not push themselves too hard.
She continues: “I want to give special thanks to a charity who were so supportive and engaging through all these years I first struggled with it. From being able to access resources to sending me birthday cards every year, they always reached out to me and made me feel that I was not alone in this.”
From everyone here at Action for M.E., we say a huge thank you to Renée, who has raised a fantastic £520 so far - and best of luck with her south coast walk tomorrow.
