We’d like to say a huge thank you to our fundraisers of the week, father and son duo, Andrew and Rob who have just completed the Men’s 10K Edinburgh 2019.
When explaining their reasons for supporting our charity, Rob tells us:
"My daughter, Lucy, has M.E., sometimes also referred to as CFS. M.E. affects an estimated 250,000 people in the UK, and around 17 million people worldwide, and yet it is little understood and research very poorly funded, leaving many with a poor quality of life.
"These are the Millions Missing from society, too sick to stand up for themselves, missing Government funding, missing medical understanding and treatment, missing a cure!
"Lucy is 18 and has had M.E. all her teenage years. Every day she has to make decisions how she will spend her limited energy, and yet she is remarkably positive. Andrew and I are running a 10k to support Lucy to raise awareness towards M.E. and raise funds to help Action for M.E. so that they achieve their vision of ‘a world without M.E.’"
