Our Fundraisers of the week are sisters Helen and Liz who have been involved with our charity for over 27 years. Helen has M.E. and the two have held auctions from their home, stalls and online.
When speaking about her condition and reasons for fundraising for our charity Helen tells us that “in 1991, everything I had planned to do came to a crashing halt as I became bedridden with M.E. With much support from my husband, family and friends, as I slowly improved I wanted to make sense of having such a debilitating condition and turn a negative into a positive.
“My passion is not only to discover what causes M.E. but to raise awareness and funds for the charity that helped me. I have limited energy but, with MUCH help from my sister & constant support from my husband, I try to do a little towards fundraising every day.”
The sisters are currently auctioning two top priced tickets for any performance at the Fortune Theatre to see the Woman In Black. Available from 1st June 2019 until 30th May 2020. You can find out more about the auction or place a bid here.
