Fundraisers of the week: our eggsellent 2.6 Challenges
May 01, 2020
This week, we have three amazing fundraisers of the week: our 2.6 Challengers.
Like so many charities, we rely on our brilliant supporters taking part in fundraising events to support our vital work. With all these events cancelled so we can stay at home, the newly launched 2.6 Challenge stepped in. This nationwide fundraising campaign aims to help save UK charities, asking people to come up with their own 2.6 Challenge based on the numbers 2 and 6 for sponsorship or donations. Whether big or small, your contributions make a major difference to the work we are able to do.
Housemates and London Marathon runners, Ben and Thomas, decided to take on their own 2.6 Challenge to fill the marathon-shaped hole until the rescheduled date in October. Their "2 boys, 6 eggs" egg roulette saw them take it in turns to crack an egg on their heads – but hardboiled or is it raw? You can see from the picture! Huge thanks to everyone that sponsored them to take on this eggceptional challenge, raising £98 to support our vital work.
Our third fundraiser of the week is our very own CEO, Sonya Chowdhury. Her 2.6 Challenge, Curry for M.E., saw her walk 2.6 miles to deliver more than 170 homemade curries to neighbours in exchange for donations. Thanks to a generous match-funder, boosting donations from so many of you wonderful people, Curry for M.E. has now raised a rather staggering £28,000.
Every pound donated will help our Crisis, Advocacy and Support Service reach even more people with M.E. in urgent need. You can still give 2.6 Challenge donations and we are so grateful for your support - thank you. And if you have an idea for your own fundraiser, please get in touch!
