Last year a team of 13 Action for M.E. fundraisers took on the Ride London 100, a challenging 100-mile cycle course, to raise our best ever total of £10,661 in support of our work.
This year we’re hoping to build on their success with another record-breaking total, and we need your help to do it.
If you know of anyone who would be willing to take part in the Ride London 100 to raise money for Action for M.E. please contact the fundraising team by email or phone on 0117 927 9551.
This is a great event for teams as well as individuals and we offer a 50% discount on the registration fee for groups who sign up together.
As with all our fundraisers often it’s often a personal connection to M.E. that keeps people motivated and last year’s team were no different. Gerry Loughney, who chose to fundraise for us with his own place in the event last year, describes his motivation below:
“I did it really for my partner Josie who has suffered with ME for the last 8 years hoping in some small way that I might be able to help her to get better. She battles on bravely and not only has to deal with the symptoms of the illness but also with the lack of knowledge and interest within the medical establishment and also the doubt that exists in others when they can't see or imagine the illnesses effect.”
Gerry has written about his training, fundraising and the event itself for our fundraising pages. You can read his full story here.
We’re grateful for any help you can give filling our event places for this year.
