Last month, we asked people with M.E. to submit their designs for a handbag that will be used to collect donations for us at the Beauty Unseen event in October. Nine people with experience of hidden illness and isolation will share their stories through film, dance, music and cutting-edge fashion at the event, which will highlight the impact of social exclusion.
One of these is Marianne Gutierrez, who used to have M.E. After living with the condition for more than a decade, she made a slow recovery and is now able to work again.
She was delighted to be asked to take part in Beauty Unseen, and we are hugely grateful that she nominated Action for M.E. as her chosen charity.
You can now see designs submitted by people who have M.E. on our Facebook page - we'd love to know what you think of them.
Tickets for Beauty Unseen, which takes place Saturday 1 October at 6pm in the Fashion Pavilion at The Mall Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, cost £12. The show will last one hour, and afterwards the audience will have the chance to meet with those taking part and enjoy drinks and nibbles before being sent home with a goody bag.
