Walking one million steps over 100 days is a sizeable challenge, even if you don't have M.E.
That's why Action for M.E. supporter Natalie asked her friends and family to help - and the Walk with M.E. challenge was born.
The aim of Walk with M.E. is that, like Natalie, you set up a team to walk a total of one million steps over 100 hundred days, collecting sponsorship to donate to Action for M.E.
That's an average of 10,000 steps per day, which is “quite achievable for most, but a lot for someone like me,” explains Natalie. “Walk with M.E. is therefore designed to be completed in teams, which means my team mates can help me out and donate their steps to help me achieve my target of one million steps in 100 days.”
The money raised will fund our vital information and support services for people affected by M.E., including our peer-support forums for children with M.E. and their parents, helping them feel less isolated.
Plus the total raised by each and every team taking part in Walk with M.E. this year will be doubled, making each donation worth twice as much and helping us achieve even more change for people with M.E. This is due to the generous support of a family trust, who have long supported us and our work.
The Walk with M.E. 2018 challenge starts on Thursday 1 February, ending 100 days later on M.E. Awareness Day, Saturday 12 May. You can register your team to take part now at our Walk with M.E. JustGiving campaign page.
