Last chance to stop the cuts to ESA WRAG

March 01, 2016

Last week the Lords' amendments to scrap the proposed cuts to Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) for people in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG) were overturned by MPs.

However, the campaign is not over yet. Yesterday evening a revised amendment was voted through in the Lords, meaning the cuts can only be implemented once a full impact assessment has been carried out and a report laid before both Houses and voted on. MPs will vote on this final amendment on Wednesday.

Please ask your MP to listen to disabled people’s concerns and vote the right way.

As the vote is tomorrow, the easiest and quickest way to make your voice heard is to email your MP using an online platform, like Mencap’s ESA WRAG campaign action. While Mencap is a charity for people with learning disabilities, their email to MPs is not specific to learning disabilities, so anyone can use it. You can add your own comments to make it more personal to your experience of M.E.

Every vote will count on Wednesday so email your MP today.
