Action for M.E.'s Chief Executive Sonya Chowdhury is meeting with Justin Tomlinson MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Disabled People, today.
This follows his recent meeting with one of our supporters, Sean Wilson, who took key information, and a personal message from Sonya, to highlight the impact of welfare benefit cuts on people affected by M.E.
The minister has expressed a particular interest in our SEE M.E. employment project, which demonstrates the importance of targeted, timely and appropriate support for people with M.E. who want to stay in or return to work.
Sonya will also highlight that some people with M.E. are simply too ill to work, and draw attention to the barriers they face in accessing the care and support to which they are entitled.
Following her discussion with the minister, Sonya will head straight to a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on M.E., where MPs and charity members will discuss:
If you would like to encourage your MP to engage with the inquiry, and/or attend the drop-in session, please use our template letter.
