Sonya Chowdhury, Chief Executive, Action for M.E., has been named in the 2018 West Women of the Year Top 100 list.
The Bristol Post, who publish the list, says: “We asked you for your nominations – and you delivered, sending us stories of some truly incredible women. These entries were then put before the judges who have compiled the West Women of the Year Top 100 list.”
Sonya says, “I am truly honoured and humbled to have received this accolade. It means a lot to me but even more for the charity as it provides a new opportunity to raise the profile of M.E. and its impact, and of the need for greater investment in biomedical research as well as appropriate care and support.”
The public has now been asked to decide the most influential woman from the Top 100 list: you can vote online now.
“These women come from all walks of life, with an array of different skills and interests,” says the Bristol Post. “They are the community leaders, entrepreneurs, charity spokespeople, creatives, inventors and celebrities of the South West and we hope this list will provide a platform so we can shout about their achievements.”
