Our new website is live: what do you think?

December 03, 2015

Today we launch our new website, developed and built in consultation with people affected by M.E.

Features of the new site include:

  • clear, colour-coded sections will help us educate and inform health professionals and others supporting people affected by M.E., using targeted information
  • a new shop, which we are launching jointly with independent living company Really Useful Stuff
  • services directory where you can easily search for  local M.E. support groups and specialist M.E./CFS services using your postcode
  • a new community page, which brings together our popular M.E. Friends Online peer-support forum, daily news stories, and links to our social media channels, so you can see what’s going on at a glance.

Win one of three great prizes!

To mark the launch of our shop, we are giving away some fantastic prizes:

  • first prize is a Glamstick walking stick exclusively designed in our logo colours
  • second prize is a custom-made SpokeGuard for your wheelchair, featuring our logo
  • third prize is a set of Xtenex elastic laces.

Visit our Really useful for M.E. page to enter this great competition.

Why did we build a new website?

Last year, our then website provider told us it planned to discontinue the bespoke platform on which our site was built. This gave us no alternative but to move to a new platform and set up a new website. Following a robust tendering and selection process, we appointed Headadvisory and Bake Digital, two companies working jointly to provide project management and technical web expertise. However, just over a month ago, our then-website provider went into liquidation before the new site was ready. That's why, for the past few weeks, you will have seen a temporary version of our old site.

What do you think of our new site?

We welcome feedback from anyone who uses our site, whether you are a regular visitor or first-time user. Please let us know what you think.
