Action for M.E. is delighted that our Chair of Trustees, Alan Cook CBE, will host a reception at Speakers House in June by kind permission of the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Right Honourable John Bercow MP.
This offers a unique opportunity to thank a number of our supporters, fundraisers and donors for their invaluable contribution to our work.
We will also highlight the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E. to those invited including journalists, business leaders, policy-makers, parliamentarians, and research and healthcare professionals.
The evening reception for up to 150 invited guests features presentations from our Chief Executive Sonya Chowdhury, launching Action for M.E.’s new five-year strategy, and Catherine Hale, our Volunteer Policy Officer, about her experience of living with M.E.
Sonya says: “Our new five-year strategy sets out what we want to achieve to bring about real change for people with M.E., why it’s essential, and how we are going to do it. As well as thanking those who already support us, we will welcome new friends and collaborators. Our aim is that each guest at the reception, be they a national media journalist, an influential business leader, or an MP willing to take action, will leave knowing the part they can play in achieving change for people with M.E.”
This Action for M.E. event is being funded entirely separately from our budgeted income. This means that all donations you make continue to be used to deliver our vital information and support services for people with M.E., our informing and influencing campaigns, and our research-related activity.
