Welfare line temporarily closed

Welfare benefits advice and information: important news

From Monday 9 April, Action for M.E.’s Welfare Rights Line will be temporarily closed while we recruit a new advisor. Our current advisor, Anna, is moving on to a new role with another organisation, after helping develop this successful service to provide support to thousands of people. We are making absolutely sure that we find the right person for this important role, and aim to re-open the line as soon as possible.

Elizabeth, one of our two Information and support Officers, will also shortly be leaving Action for M.E. to take up a new job. While our Information and Support Line will remain open (10am to 4pm Monday to Friday), please be aware that you may experience longer hold times at busy periods.

While we are not able to provide specialist advice for complex welfare benefit issues while our Welfare Rights Line is closed, you can still contact us for general information about welfare benefits, and/or download our detailed welfare benefits factsheets.

If you need help applying for Employment and Support Allowance or Personal Independence Payment, you can use SEAP’s benefit support app. This helps you prepare by testing any application form answers you have drafted to estimate how many points you might score.
