Charities challenge stricter WCA

22 February 2011

The Disability Benefits Consortium (DBC) has made a submission to the House of Lords Merits Committee asking it to consider recommending that Statutory Instrument 2011 No. 228, which makes the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) even stricter, should be annulled.

Lord Kirkwood of Kirkhope has put down a motion to annul these regulations, and the Countess of Mar has also laid a prayer against them.

The DBC is a national consortium of over 40 different charities of which Action for M.E. is a member. The DBC will be producing a briefing for parliamentarians on the regulations.
