Minister responds to Action for M.E.

Action for M.E. has received a response from Maria Miller MP, Minister for Disabled People, regarding a letter Sir Peter Spencer sent to Chris Grayling MP, Minister for Employment.

Mrs Miller thanked Sir Peter for his suggestion of a conference to engage employers in supporting people with long-term conditions to remain in or return to work. Mrs Miller stated that the Government is keen to help disabled people move into and remain in employment and highlighted the benefits of the Access to Work programme.

Mrs Miller also highlighted the Governments response to the Sayce Review of the specialist disability employment programmes and the Governments consultation launched as a result of the review. Action for M.E. responded to the review on 17 October 2011.
