Question mark over ESA payments claim

Questions are being raised in a Rightsnet forum about the source of an article in the Times, quoted in New Statesman, which reported plans to stop ESA claimants from receiving benefits while their cases go to appeal.

The Disability Benefits Consortium has already written to the Minister for Employment, Chris Grayling, on behalf of 57 charities including Action for M.E., requesting “assurance that the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has no intention to take forward this grossly unfair suggestion” and “a public statement from the DWP to this effect.”

Action for M.E. is also seeking clarification through other channels.
