Best Patient Support award for Action for M.E.

We are pleased to announce that Action for M.E. has been named Best Patient Support Charity at the 2020 SME Southern Enterprise Awards.
The annual Southern Enterprise Awards recognise efforts made by charities and businesses to help communities. This year, the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a sustained 30% increase in demand for our services, leading to us restructuring our service to better reach people with M.E. in urgent need.
As the largest patient support charity for people with M.E. and their families, it was vital that we could adapt to the changes Covid-19 brought. This restructure has been crucial for us to continue providing services to reduce isolation, improve support and ensure people with M.E. can access targeted and relevant information to help manage the impact of their condition. Action for M.E. CEO Sonya Chowdhury says:
“We’re so grateful to receive this award from SME news. People with M.E. are at the heart of everything we do, and we’ll continue to do everything we can to better respond to the needs of our people with M.E. and those who support them.”
