Fundraiser of the Week: 8 year olds Ruth and Alice

We want to say an enormous thank you to Ruth and Alice, both aged 8, who are this week’s fundraisers of the week and raised an incredible £1,161 between them. The walk saw them take on a whopping 10K round trip from Bebington to Brimsgate, with a well-deserved halfway ice cream break!
Ruth, whose Auntie Bekky has M.E. tells us “I feel really sorry for my Auntie Bekky because she has had quite severe M.E for over a year now, so when I found a Charity badge in my Brownie badge book I thought it would be a really good idea choose M.E as my charity.”
My wonderful friend Alice has agreed to do this with me (she was looking at the Brownie Charity Badge too). We are walking in our pyjamas because people with severe M.E are almost always in there pyjamas. We hope the money we raise will help scientists to find a cure for M.E.”
The pair mapped out their route together and, along with younger siblings who were keen to join in, took on the long, challenging walk in the hot weather. We’re sure you will all join us in saying a massive well done and thank you to Ruth and Alice for taking on the challenge and raising such vital funds and awareness for people with M.E.
