Join our free online self-advocacy workshops

August 19, 2020

Following the success of our free online self-advocacy workshop in July, we’re pleased to announce that we will repeat the workshop in September and October.

Led by our experienced Advocacy Officers, they will focus on knowing your rights, getting your voice heard, and exploring barriers people with M.E. face to accessing services and support.

Funded by Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset, the workshops are open to anyone aged 18 and over, living/working in Bath and North East Somerset, who has M.E. or cares for someone who does.

Feedback from the July workshop has been positive, with one person remarking that “the Zoom format worked well. Good to hear from other people's experiences.” Another attendee noted that “concise pointers about where to look for help” was a particularly useful element of the workshop.

Where?

The September workshop will take place online, with participants supported to access this in a way that works for them, as far as we are able to do so.

We hope the October workshop will take place in person at a community venue in central Bath, subject to any Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time. If we are unable to run a face to face workshop, anyone who has signed up to attend will be invited to a virtual workshop taking place at the same time & date.

When?

1pm to 3pm Tuesday 22 September and 2pm to 4pm Tuesday 20 October. Please note the content for each workshop is the same.

Spaces are limited, so register now, and we'll email you full joining instructions. In order to better understand who is accessing our services, our funders have asked us to collect data on age, gender, ethnicity and disability for monitoring purposes; this will be anonymised before we share it with them. If you have any questions, please get in touch by email or call on 0117 927 9551.
