Our CEO shortlisted for Director of the Year award

June 14, 2023

We are delighted to announce that our CEO Sonya Chowdhury has been shortlisted as Director of the Year in the Public and Third Sector category in the Institute of Directors’ awards.

This is a celebration of the collective efforts of our incredible team, including trustees, donors, partners and volunteers, to bring about positive change and a lasting difference to the M.E. community.

Our CEO, Sonya, says:

"This is a great opportunity to recognise the achievements of our Action for M.E. team but also to raise much-needed awareness and understanding about ME/CFS. Our services provide a lifeline to people with ME/CFS and increasingly, long Covid. It's an honour to be nominated on behalf of the team and their brilliant work."

At Action for M.E., we are committed to making a real difference to the lives of people with M.E. Through the inspiring efforts and dedication of our team and the wonderful generosity of our supporters, we have been able to expand our reach to provide support to a greater number of people affected by this debilitating disease through our services. Additionally, it has enabled us to drive research funding into M.E. fostering advancement in understanding and treatment, whilst also collaborating with parliamentarians and policymakers on significant initiatives such as the APPG on M.E. and the cross-Government Delivery Plan on ME/CFS.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our exceptional staff, volunteers, trustees, donors, and partners for their invaluable support and contributions that have enabled us to support people with M.E. and eagerly await the announcement of the award results.
