Breaking Isolation workshops
Our FREE monthly Breaking Isolation workshops offer young people with ME the chance to connect and make friends, alongside discussions and gentle activities. Each one takes places online, and we alternate each month between workshops for 8 to 13 year olds, and workshops for 14 to 18 year olds.
Booking opens a month before each workshop on a first come, first served basis.
Each workshops will last for 1.5 hours from 4pm to 5.30pm. There is a five-minute break half way through but please take breaks at any other point as needed. If you need to let us know anything, such as if you’re not feeling well, please type it into the chat window, and Keely will get back to you.
Workshops are hosted by Keely, our Family Support Officer and either a young peer facilitator or adul staff member.
May 2025 workshop: building resilience and finding hope
Our next workshop, taking place on Tuesday 6 May, is for 8 to 13 year olds. There will be chances to share, connect and learn new positive processes and actitivies, including a mindfulness session lead by our Young Personss's Counsellor, Caroline.
You can book your free place here. We need parents consent for anyone under 16 taking part, and there is space to add this on the booking form.
We will start with introductions from the team and a one word check in from everyone. We will then offer a open safe space to explore feelings, thoughts and emotions, and safe ways of channelling those. You can reflect on your achievements and positive experiences, and find hope for the future. Caroline will lead a five-minute Mindfulness session and we will share any resources we find useful.
As at all our Breaking Isolation workshops, you will have the chance to join a WhatsApp group so you can stay in touch with your fellow workshoppers.
We will send all participants a journal/notebook the week before the workshop, so the cut-off date for registering is workshop is Wednesday 30 April.
Book your free place now and we hope to see you there!
