Our free online Breaking Isolation workshops are an exciting opportunity to meet other children and young people who have ME, to get to know each other and to take part in fun games and creative activities.
We hope you will also feel more confident talking about your experience of ME/CFS in a safe and understanding environment.
All our Breaking Isolation workshops have plenty of time for free chat for you to connect with others and make friends, along with a section focused on creativity or self-advocacy.
Registration for each workshop opens a month before, on a first come, first served basis. See below for the schedule and the links to register your free place.
We offer workshops for two age groups, 8-13 years and 14-18 years, alternating each time. You don't need to be a member of our Young People's Community to take part - but if you'd like to join we'd love to welcome you!
Registering on Eventbrite gives you all the details you need. If you are under 16, we will need your parent/guardian permission for you to attend (there's a section for them to complete on the sign-up form about this).
Workshops last for 1.5 hours from 4pm to 5.30pm, with a 10-minute break half way through. To manage your energy best, if you need a break at any other point, please feel free to take it. We suggest a group agreement at the start to help everyone feel included, safe and comfortable.
All workshops are facilitated by our Family Support Coordinator Keely along with one of our brilliant young volunteers. Interested in potentially volunteering? Find out more here.
These workshops are more suitable for young people who are moderately or mildly affected.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, including if you are more severely affected and would like to discuss how we may be able to meet your access requirements.
We will host a Film Club workshop on Thursday 10 July for 8-13 year olds, discussing the film Cloudy with a Chance of MeatballsĀ 2 which you can find on Netflix.
The workshops involve us all watching the film in advance then getting together to chat about. Click on the link to book your free place via Eventbrite! The booking page has lots more information, including some prompt questions that you can use to help you think about the film, if you like.
We will have a fun ice-breaker to help you get to know each other, and we always ensure there's time to chat and connect. We will have a getting to know each other space, and also have time to just chat about anything you like.
Please send an email to our lovely Family Support Coordinator Keely if you have any questions or if there's anything you need to let us know before the workshops.
