“I feel unwell all of the time. Sensory overload can happen at any time. My self-esteem has significantly lowered as a result of having ME.”
Lyndon worked as a carpenter for 40 years before developing ME meant he had to give up his career. Having ME also severely limited his social activities, leaving him unable to meet friends and join family activities or outings.
He reached out to our healthcare services and was able to see a Doctor, who diagnosed him with ME. After experiencing 12 months of confusion over his symptoms, Lyndon found having a diagnosis and the support of a knowledgeable healthcare professional reassuring.
“Dr Kerr helped me gain an understanding of my condition, I felt heard & understood. I accepted my situation & became more resolute, more proactive in my research, changing my diet, lifestyle etc.”
Lyndon now has appointments with the Action for ME Doctor every 6 months, to help him better manage his ME.
“My experience has been that the NHS is unable to offer much assistance to people with ME. The work done by Action for ME is vitally important in getting progress for people like myself who have little or no assistance otherwise. They have been fundamental in improving my condition.”
