We're delighted to announce Cat Smith MP as our newest Parliamentary Champion!
Speaking on the announcement, Cat said:
"As a Member of Parliament, I have heard directly from constituents about the devastating impact ME can have on people’s lives. I also recognise the way ME overlaps with and relates to other long-term and poorly understood illnesses, and the pressing need for greater awareness. It is clear to me that we require a more joined-up approach to care and research.
We must build on the recent momentum of the publication of the Delivery Plan on ME to deliver lasting change for people living with ME and for those affected by other long-term conditions.
I am proud to take on the role of Parliamentary Champion for Action for ME, and I look forward to working with the charity and with colleagues across Parliament to press for the investment in research and services that people with ME so urgently need."
We would like to thank Cat for her dedication to supporting people with ME and we look forward to working with her.
