International long Covid Awareness Day 2025

22 March 2025

Today marks international long Covid AwarenessDay 2025.

Studies indicate similarities between long Covid and ME, with significant overlap between symptoms, including post-exertional malaise (the hallmark symptom of ME) and cognitive impairment.

Furthermore, recent findings indicate that over half of long Covid patients meet the diagnostic criteria for ME.

As a result, we have seen a significant increase in demand for our Services since the pandemic and this is expected to rise further, with an estimated 2 million people now living with long Covid in the UK.

We're standing with everyone affected by long Covid and those organisations also working to support them!

Through continuing collaboration between the two APPGs on ME and Long Covid, and accelerating more high-quality research into the conditions, we can secure positive change for the future.
