We're delighted to announce Tom Morrison MP as our newest Parliamentary Champion!
Speaking on the announcement, Tom said:
"I'm pleased to become a Parliamentary Champion for Action for ME. I have heard from my constituents the profound impact that ME can have on their daily lives and their stories are both moving and deeply concerning. ME is a complex, long-term condition where too many people face stigma and misunderstanding.
As a Parliamentary Champion for Action for ME we must ensure there is more action from the Government, the NHS, businesses, schools and colleges to counter the misunderstanding that people living with ME receive.
This means supporting research to better understand the causes of ME, ensuring the NHS implements the latest clinical guidance and supporting employers to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace. It also means challenging outdated assumptions and confronting stigma."
Tom has also joined the APPG on ME too. We would like to thank him for his dedication to supporting people with ME and we look forward to working with him.
